Solving our Water crisis

Florida's clean water supply is in danger. Florida's freshwater is damned into Lake Okeechobee. There the water becomes trapped with high levels of pollutant and turns toxic. This toxic water is then discharged into the the Caloosahatchee river and St. Lucie estuaries. These toxic water discharges are killing the Everglades and drowning our coastal estuaries with polluted water. If the quality of Florida's water continues to deteriorate, the impact will be felt throughout every industry in Florida.

1 out of 3 Floridians get their drinking water from Lake Okeechobee. If the problem persists then millions of Floridan's will be forced to face a reality of toxic drinking water, water shortages and drought.

Water storage reservoirs must be implemented South of Lake Okeechobee. This would allow the water to be cleaned and treated to restore the flow of clean fresh water to the Everglades.  Michael will advocate for man made filtration marshes to allow Lake Okeechobee's polluted waters to return in their original direction and be filtered and cleaned along the way. This will hopefully lead to the restoration of Florida's natural sheet flow and provide much-needed, clean, fresh water to the Everglades, the South Florida aquifer and Florida Bay.

Water Education

Michael will create education programs to spread awareness of Florida's urgent water crisis. These courses will educate people on Florida's water issues and water conservation tactics that will unite the people together to solve the water crisis for good.
